Apple Users Group, Sydney

Apple II articles from Applecations 1990 - 1997

Applecations was a printed publication of the Apple Macintosh Users’ Group, Sydney, Australia (formerly Apple Users’ Group, Sydney).

I was appointed to the position of Apple II Sub-Editor in late 1989. I was Apple II Sub-editor from 1990 to 1992, then 1994 to 1997. Sean Craig took over the role in 1993 while I was travelling overseas.

This role was created to ensure that the Apple II content of the magazine was of a high standard and was relevant to the Apple II members of the group. I gathered contributions from group members, overseas publications, the internet and occasionally created my own articles. I hounded members to create content, checked the grammar and the spelling and then passed on a months worth of material to the main editor of the magazine who was responsible for page layout and for gathering Macintosh content.

Over the years, I diligently kept a copy of all the material that was submitted for publication in text file format. The articles that are available on this site are a complete record of the Apple II material that was published during this period.

The articles are copyright by Apple Users’ Group, Sydney. Permission was granted in the magazine for non-profit user groups to reprint the articles in their publications as long as they specified the source and the author. I have received permission to make these articles available on the web under similar conditions.

There were a number of articles that were reprinted in the magazine from other sources. I have not obtained permission to reproduce these articles on the web. However, I have provided them here to provide a complete record of material that was published. I don't expect that there will be any complaints, however, if the copyright holders express their wish for their material to be removed I will gladly do so. They should contact me using the link at the bottom of the page.

Due to the age of the material, some of the articles contain references to phone numbers, web site urls, and addresses of people and companies. These are highly likely to be out of date.

I would like to take this opportunity to once more thank all those people who contributed their articles for publication. I felt that the Apple II section of Applecations contained some great content that was of a high standard. That is only a product of the contributions that were received. Thank you!
